I don’t know about you but sometimes I like to elevate my pizza eating experience a little. You know, not the typical pepperoni and Hawaiian style pizza my kiddo prefers EVERY time we have pizza. Sometimes I like to have the ‘I’m eating at a fancy pizza restaurant’ experience. This is how I feel when I make this Salami, Olive & Fresh Mozzarella Pizza. Mission accomplished!
Also, I don’t know about you but sometimes I just don’t have the time or energy to make homemade pizza dough. Thankfully Trader Joe’s comes to the rescue when I have those days. I usually grab extras of their premade dough and leave some in the freezer too. That way I can have homemade pizza on a weeknight when my day doesn’t allow me to make it from scratch.
Let’s talk about this pizza. First I like to use good quality salami. I also prefer fresh mozzarella, which I find at Costco. Fresh mozzarella is just so creamy! I also like to purchase my olives fresh from an olive bar at a store like Sprouts, Whole Foods, or New Seasons Market. The pizza is then topped with thinly sliced red onion, arugula, freshly ground pepper, and chili flakes.
The pizza is then baked at a high heat until it is perfectly browned and bubbling with melted cheese. I usually double the recipe because I like having leftovers for another dinner or lunch the next day. Try it; you’ll be addicted like me! Cheers to delicious and gooey pizza!
